Croatia's new price-list rule: XML or CSV from 1 October 2026
From 1 October 2026, Croatian retailers and service providers with a website must publish price lists as XML or CSV files. What the rule asks, in plain English.
- Cjenik
- NN 101/2026
- Anchor price
From 1 October 2026, every retailer and service provider in Croatia that has a website must publish its current price list there — not as a PDF or a photo, but as a machine-readable .xml or .csv file. That is what the Government’s Decision on publishing price lists of products and services as a measure of direct price control (NN 101/2026, adopted 10 September 2026) requires.
Below is a summary of the Decision, article by article. Text last checked on 27 September 2026.
Who it applies to
Retailers and service providers that have an established website (Art. V). The Decision has no separate exemption for small businesses or sole traders: if you have a website and sell to consumers, assume it applies.
What the price list must contain
Products (Art. III): name, code and brand; unit of measure and unit price where applicable; retail price and whether it is a special sale (with the sale’s name); the anchor price; the barcode; and whether the product is available.
Services (Art. IV): the service name; retail price and any special-sale information; the anchor price.
Format, deadlines and retention
- Format: an .xml or .csv file suitable for automatic processing (Art. II). A web-page table or a PDF is not enough.
- Products: updated once a day, by 08:00 for the current working day.
- Services: updated on every change, by 08:00.
- Retention: each published version stays available for 30 days.
File names and automated access
File names must include the type and address of the point of sale, its designation, a storage number and a timestamp with the date and time the file was sent (Art. VI). Chains use the same structure for every outlet.
Businesses must allow software tools and automated programs to collect price data in real time (Art. VII): the files have to be publicly reachable at a stable address, not behind a form or a login.
Checklist before 1 October
- List every product or service with its price and anchor price.
- Produce an .xml or .csv file with the fields from Art. III or IV.
- Publish it on your website at an address that does not change, named as Art. VI requires.
- Set up updates: products daily by 08:00, services on every change.
- Keep every version for at least 30 days.
How Cjenik handles it
Cjenik turns a photo of your existing price list into the XML and CSV files for your website, a QR code for the counter and an unchangeable archive of every published version.
